What is Kameleoon?
Kameleoon is an experimentation platform that lets marketing, product and engineering teams run A/B tests, roll out features and personalize websites and apps from one system. It covers client-side web tests, server-side feature experiments and feature flags, so both marketers and developers can work in the same tool. Its newest layer is Prompt-Based Experimentation (PBX), an AI agent that builds test variants from a written request.
With PBX, you describe the change you want, and the agent suggests ideas, generates front-end or back-end variants, sets targeting and goals, and helps read the results. Statistical methods such as sequential testing, CUPED, holdouts and sample ratio mismatch detection are built in. Kameleoon sells a self-serve Starter plan for smaller programs and a custom Enterprise plan for unlimited experiments and traffic.
Kameleoon at a glance
How does Kameleoon work?
- Install the snippet or SDK
Add the lightweight JavaScript snippet for web tests, or use SDKs for server-side and app experiments.
- Create a variant
Write a prompt for the PBX agent, use the code editor, or build from a Figma mockup to produce the variation. Each prompt uses one AI credit, and Starter plans include a monthly credit allowance.
- Target an audience
Choose from 40+ segmentation criteria, such as device, source or behavior, and set your goals and metrics.
- Launch and monitor
Run the test with real-time reporting and automatic checks for issues like sample ratio mismatch.
- Roll out the winner
Ship the winning version, or release it gradually with feature flags and approval workflows.

Kameleoon FAQ
Is Kameleoon free?
No. Kameleoon does not have a free plan. It offers a 30-day free trial of PBX Starter with no credit card, limited to three experiments. After the trial, the Starter plan begins at $495 per month, and Enterprise pricing is quoted by sales based on traffic and features. Bundling experimentation with feature management lowers the combined cost, and longer contracts earn discounts.
What is Kameleoon used for?
Kameleoon is used to run A/B tests on websites, test and roll out product features with feature flags, and personalize experiences for different audiences. Marketing teams use it to improve conversion rates, while product and engineering teams use it to release new features safely and measure their impact.
Is Kameleoon good for beginners?
Kameleoon is easier to start with than many enterprise testing tools because its PBX agent can build variants from a written prompt. It also provides an academy, documentation and a community. However, its pricing and depth make it a better fit for teams that plan to run tests regularly. Teams that run only an occasional test may find the price hard to justify.
Kameleoon vs Optimizely: what's the difference?
Both platforms offer web experimentation, feature experimentation and personalization for larger companies. Kameleoon publishes a starting price for its Starter plan and leans on prompt-based AI test building. Optimizely does not publish prices and sells experimentation alongside its CMS and wider content platform.
Does Kameleoon integrate with Shopify?
Yes. Kameleoon lists a Shopify extension among its integrations, so ecommerce teams can run experiments on Shopify stores. It also connects with Figma, data warehouses like Snowflake and BigQuery, and offers JavaScript, Data and Automation APIs. Data warehouse connectors and product recommendations are sold as premium add-ons.
